Our People
Our commitment to people is set out in the ethos adopted by the founding partners of the firm, which states that: “We will, at all times, seek to value everyone in the firm and provide secure and enjoyable employment. We will strive to preserve a balance between work and home. We will encourage a diverse and open culture which fosters trust and loyalty amongst all within the firm and with clients.”
Equal opportunities and diversity
We are committed to equal opportunities and diversity and this is reflected in the firm’s policies and in its recruitment processes.
As part of our commitment to the Law Society's Diversity Charter, we recently undertook a firm-wide diversity survey, the results of which can be located by clicking here.
Access to careers in the legal profession
To encourage access to the solicitors’ profession, we offer work experience placements to a range of schools, as well as providing formal summer student placements for those already at university or law school. We also provide a graduate entry scheme which provides access to a wide range of BWB posts - including paralegal routes into our solicitor trainee programme.
Living Wage
We support the London Citizens’ Living Wage Campaign to ensure that all our staff, including contractors such as our cleaners, receive a living wage and other guaranteed minimum working conditions.
Staff health and welfare
We operate a cycle to work scheme offering loans for staff to purchase bicycles and free access to cycle storage and changing facilities. We also offer access to a gym and yoga and keep fit classes for BWB staff and participate in a local netball league.
