Mary is a solicitor in the Charity & Social Enterprises Department based in London. Mary qualified as a solicitor at BWB in 1998, prior to which she was a science teacher in comprehensive schools for ten years.

Qualification and experience
• Bristol University BSc in Chemistry
• Admitted as solicitor in 1998 having worked previously as a science teacher
• Trained at Bates Wells & Braithwaite
• Works in the Charity & Social Enterprise Department

• Establishment of new charities and social enterprises including community interest companies (CICs)
• Establishment of and advice to Academies, education charities and maintained schools
• Establishment of three regional Educational Leadership Centres
• Charity constitutions – changes to, review of, restructuring, incorporation
• Advice to sports clubs and governing bodies on sports charities and Community Amateur Sports Club status
• Commercial contracts
• Reorganisations, transfers and mergers
