Qualification and Career History
• Studied at Warwick University LLB Hons 1978
• Admitted as a solicitor 1981
• Partner at Speechly Bircham from 1989-1996
• Joined Bates Wells & Braithwaite as a Partner in 1997
• Specialising in Estate and Property Portfolio Acquisition and Management
• Was lead partner in the management and development of one of the great London “Estates”

• Estate work on the Goldsmiths campus including acquisitions, lettings and development
• Acquisition of a long lease and refurbishment of a Grade I Adam listed building on the Howard de Walden Estate for major medical institution
• Acquisition and development of 2 large warehouse buildings in East London on behalf of a regeneration agency and conversion into an Arts Centre Complex including display and performance space and cinemas, with the benefit of a range of grants
• Taking 2 long leases for a new Preparatory school for girls in Westminster
• The construction of a European Headquarters building for large American motorcycle manufacturer, taken on a leasehold interest
• Acting on numerous commercial Leases for large commercial property owner in central London and working with them on the development of their property portfolio
• Acting for major US legal practice in leasing their building in Mayfair
• Involved in several redevelopment projects, bringing disused sites back into community use with the benefit of national and European funding
• Involved with the restoration project of a leading opera company in Central London, including major Arts Council funding and issues surrounding Charity Act Compliance
• Long leasing of newly built Headquarters building in Smithfield, London for major children's charity and subsequent subletting of 3 floors on shorter term leases
