Event Summary

BWB’s Simon Steeden and Tom McNeil will be joined by Tom Levitt, Chair of Fair for You charity, former Member of Parliament, now writer and consultant at Sector 4 Focus consultancy, to deliver an interactive workshop on how your charity can get the most out of working with your MP. The workshop will cover:

  • An introduction to relevant laws and guidelines
  • Why, when and how best to lobby MPs
  • An exercise on lobbying MPs
  • Your questions answered

Simon Steeden is a partner in the charity and social enterprise department at BWB and head of its election, politics and campaigning team. Tom McNeil is a solicitor in the charity and social enterprise department with a particular interest in advising on political engagement by charities, and stood as a candidate for parliament in the 2015 general election. Since the election, outside of work Tom has continued to lobby MPs and members of the House of Lords on various human rights issues.
