We run a series of workshops as part of our Getting to Grips with the GDPR series.

Contracts under the GDPR – How do we negotiate our contracts with processors and controllers?

Event Summary

Organisations engaging service providers as processors now have to ensure that the contracts they put in place contain certain key provisions as required under the GDPR. What is the best way to ensure your position is protected and that you comply with the GDPR? What about processors that won’t negotiate certain key provisions? Or how about putting in place agreements with controllers where you are sharing personal data? Are these required? This seminar will consider scenarios where contracts are used in the context of GDPR and provide advice on strategies for negotiation.

Who should attend?

This event is focused at senior members of staff who have responsibility for and experience of data protection compliance within their organisation, including Data Protection Officers and managers and senior HR advisors.

How can we lawfully use Special Category Data?

Event Summary

The GDPR requires organisations to treat certain types of data– special category data - under stricter requirements. But the rules can be complex. How can we use special category data lawfully? What further issues do organisations need to consider when collecting and using special category data? In this workshop, we’ll consider the rules under the GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 through looking at case studies and considering what the additional risks are connected with this type of data and how organisations can comply with their obligations.

What are the data privacy rules around use of Children’s data and photos?

Event Summary

The GDPR tells us that children merit specific protection. What are the rules under data protection law about the use of children’s personal data? Is consent always required? How do we produce a privacy notice that is appropriate for children? We’ll be examining these questions plus also considering what the GDPR says about the rules for taking photographs. In this workshop we’ll look at case studies and consider forms that may be used to collect consents where required.
