Victoria Hordern, Head of Data Privacy at Bates Wells Braithwaite, has been quoted by Digital Business Lawyer in an article that focuses on the Information Commissioner’s investigation into the recent allegations levelled at data analytics firm Cambridge Analytica.
Referring to upcoming regulatory changes, Victoria explains that “the controversy [surrounding Cambridge Analytica] will also embolden data protection regulators in the run up to GDPR taking effect”.
She adds that “making the case for use of sophisticated enforcement weaponry just got easier for data protection regulators as they seek to hold organisations to account for data use”.
