Chetal Patel, Partner at Bates Wells Braithwaite has provided commentary for a Lexis Nexis piece examining the Home Secretary's newly announced 'start-up' visa.

This newly announced route will replace a visa which was exclusively for graduates and therefore allow for a wider pool of talented business founders to enter the UK. The 'start-up' visa should make the visa process faster and smoother for entrepreneurs coming to the UK to start a business. The announcement has been made during London Tech Week and follows a report which found that 83% of tech communities cite access to talent as their biggest challenge.

In the article, Chetal comments that "Entrepreneurs play a key role in creating jobs and driving economic growth in the UK. It is hoped that this new start–up visa route will aid the UK in becoming a more dynamic, open, globally-trading nation."
