Experience

I’m an Associate in the Immigration Department. My work bridges personal and business immigration, advising on applications based on family relationships alongside Global Talent, investor, entrepreneur and innovator applications. I am also experienced at advising on the work routes, UK Ancestry, education, citizenship and appeals work.

I have built up a particular expertise on advising employers and individuals on the implications of Brexit and the EU Settlement Scheme.

I have spoken at a number of events for the Creative Industries Federation and the Immigration Industry Association and provided training for ILPA. I have provided commentary for LexisNexis and the wider media.

I am recognised as a ‘Rising Star’ by 2024’s Legal 500 directories, and as an ‘Associate to Watch’ in Chambers UK for personal immigration.

Highlights
  • Brexit I have advised a number of EEA nationals and their families on the impact of Brexit on their status in the UK. I have assisted people with making applications under the EU Settlement Scheme and helped employers with briefing their employees on what they will need to do once the UK leaves the EU. More recently, I have assisted an adult dependent child with an application to join their father in the UK and succeeded in obtaining status for applicants who had previously received refusals.
  • Family I assisted a British citizen and their partner relocate to the UK following two previous refusals. I advised a client on a complicated partner application as the unmarried partners had unusual living arrangements.
  • Culture and creative I have recently advised on securing Global Talent endorsements for a first-time published author and movie director.
  • Long residence I assisted a client in successfully obtaining indefinite leave to remain under the ten-year long residence route. This was an application made complicated by a missing passport and the client had spent a year studying outside of the UK during the ten years.
  • Visitors I assisted a US consultant in overturning a refusal of entry at the border. They were consulting on a major infrastructure project in the UK and had previously been stopped at the border and refused entry.
  • I have also recently advised on numerous entry clearance and leave to remain applications under the new points based system, including Skilled Workers, Investors, Innovators and Entrepreneurs.
