Following the publication of the EDPB’s latest report on the GDPR, Victoria Hordern, Partner & Head of Data Privacy, provided her thoughts to Global Data Review on the key insights that can be drawn from the report’s conclusions.

Nothing how it is “perhaps unsurprising” that the EDPB has assumed such a positive view of the GDPR’s implementation, Victoria also explains how some member states believe the introduction of the GDPR “can and should be improved”.

She cites particular concerns around the precise role of data protection officers and the use of children’s data as reasons for why these states have responded with this feedback.

Victoria also suggests that “regulators could do more to help smaller organisations understand and adjust to the new GDPR landscape”.
